Sparkbrook Wanderers were officially established in June 2007 with the majority of its players originating from the areas of Sparkbrook, Sparkhill, Small Heath and Harborne.

The club started off as nothing more than an empty shell with no sense of direction. However, vision and hard work brought together a group of friends and players who had no opportunities to play competitively, to build a unit that is now known as Sparkbrook Wanderers and subsequently entered it into the Shapla Football League during Season 2007/08.

The club is focused on providing the youth of the local areas of the city with an opportunity to play football for a local side and get a sense of being part of a team and part of the community.

It was important for our team to have a mixture of young up-and-coming players with potential and members who’ve had previous exposure to the Shapla League.

Sparkbrook Wanderers boasts players from various ethnic backgrounds and we truly believe this will bring the community closer together and make our team stronger.
