| Club Profile |
Formed in 2004, Smethwick FC Football Club was established to allow workers in the catering trade, primarily in Restaurants the opportunity to turn their footballing passions into reality. The desire and competitive nature of the team made it inevitable to join the Shapla Football League as they needed a stage to portray their skills and prove their critics wrong. By signing-up further players with Shapla League experience, Smethwick FC entered the league in season 2004/05. After a successful first season, finishing 5th in Division 2 and winning the Presenation Day Tournament, Smethwick FC merged with two local teams, Smethwick Jonota and Smethwick Eleven to move the team from strength to strength and hopefully win the 2nd Division championship in season 2005/06 and gain promotion to Division 1.
