Sporting Lozells, consisting of members aged 16 years old and over, was founded by Abdul Hannan in 2005 when a group of youngsters approached him wanting to play football.

Abdul Hannan started training the youngsters initially on Sunday afternoons in Perry Hill Park and then expanded training to Wednesday evenings too at Holte School to keep them occupied.

Due to the progress made by the team and coupled together with Abdul Hannan’s 4 to 5 years of playing in the Shapla Football League, he subsequently decided to enter Sporting Lozells into the league for season 2005/06.
